I love that Joseph pretty much tries anything, food-wise. (I have to add food-wise since there are so many other things he's unwilling to try...but that's another story!)

Here's how I get Joseph to eat eggs and toast. If I give him scrambled eggs and a slice of toast separately on a plate, he usually won't eat them. Instead I do this:

That's a piece of toast covered in applesauce and then topped with eggs. (Some may say yuck when reading this but I also enjoy something sweet with my eggs. My favorite is jam, which I spread onto the toast and then top with eggs...I know, sounds kooky!)

Here's the aftermath:

Almost done...

What zany things do you put together hoping your child will eat them? Is it something you would try yourself? Or do you just end up pawning off random foods to your child hoping to hit upon something that they'll love?

  1. Hey I say whatever works! I mix apples with Addi's Mac and Cheese so she will eat apples! It has no flavor, but she will still eat it.

  2. That looks good, but sounds gross...nice presentation! Abbie is not a big egg eater, but she will mostly try a variety of foods. I think it is the texture of the eggs... She enjoys veggies, meat, fruit, etc...so I can't complain. I haven't had to resort to mixing things yet, and hopefully I won't have to...but only time will tell! Joseph is just adorable! The butter thing...I totally know what you are talking about! I find as she gets older, I feel the same way! It's funny..but not...at the same time! Poor first kids!!! (Oh well, I was an oldest...and I'm ok...right?!)

    Merry Christmas!

  3. Hmmm...our faves are cream cheese and jam sandwiches...courtesy of my great-grandpa Harold. YUM. The boys' love 'em. OR...PB and marshmallow. Soooo not nutritious...but oh so yummy!

Besides....you can eat any vegetable, so long as its coated in ranch. LOL.

    Happy New Year guys!
