The World is Now A Little Brighter

Yes, guys...the world is brighter today because there is a new baby that has been sent down to our family. Well, not to William and me but to his sister Laurie and her husband Chris. The new baby's name is Boyd Christopher. He arrived at 8:36 this morning and weighed 7 lbs 4 oz. He was an amazing 22 inches long! I didn't even know they made 'em that long...let me know if your's were longer. I would be interested in hearing about it. But enough talking...here are the pictures, which is what makes this whole internet blog worthwhile. Here is a picture of the proud papa and mama.

He is so tiny next to Joseph... obviously!

And with the next two pictures, you would think this was our own child since we are holding him so close...but no, just our newest nephew.

Finally, here is a video of the auspicious occasion. Don't mind the sideways view...it only lasts a few seconds. I thought I was taking a picture of Susan and her new grandson but instead began a video. Rather than stop it, I just thought I would continue so that Laurie could have a video of her son's birthday.

  2. Oh yay!! Tell Laurie Congratulations! And yes...there have been 4 boys longer than Boyd...believe it or not Sarah's boys (granted Billy her husband is 6'8") Zach 24", Luke 22 1/4" and Gabe 22 1/4" long. Nikolas (Katie's baby) was also a whopping 22 1/4" long. Must be those Robertson genes...! ('Cuz I'm not sure how Jesse got to be 7 ft tall!) Tell everyone congrats and we can't wait to meet them!

  3. Wow, a baby that was 2 feet long! (saying 2 feet seems so much longer than 24 inches, you know)

  5. Ya, when you put it that way...it sounds like he (Zach) should've come outta there and just gotten a job!! ;0) But keep in mind...these boys were all 9+ pushing 10 lbs. (sigh) As much as I HATE the newborn stage, I'd love to have another!!

  6. cute baby! lovely family. congratulations!

next time i give birth i'm going to send out these photos and pretend they're my kid. (my babies usually outgrow the splotchy rat-alien look just in time for the tiny white pimples and scaly cradle cap look.)

i wish i had enjoyed my first as much as i enjoyed my third. it's so overwhelming the first time, and then by the third, when you almost know what you're doing (and know that they really, really do grow up eventually), you have the older ones to take care of too. it's like a child-rearing catch-22.

hope the new mommy is getting tons of rest and yummy, yummy food from her supportive family!!
